Diptrace
Design
DipTrace is
EDA software for creating schematic diagrams and printed circuit boards.
DipTrace is an advanced PCB design software application that consists of PCB
Layout with efficient auto-router, Schematic Capture, Component and Pattern
Editors that allow to design own component libraries. Besides being very simple
to learn, this software has a very intuitive user interface and many innovative
features. For instance, a schematic can be converted to a PCB with one mouse
click. Advanced manual placement and auto-placement features allow getting
acceptable placement in several minutes. The board designer can instantly renew
the PCB from an updated version of schematic and keep all previous work without
changes. PCB and Schematic can be compared at any design stage to ensure they
are identical.
DipTrace has a powerful automatic router. It
can route a single layer and multilayer circuit boards, and there is an option
to autoroute a single layer board with jumper wires, if required. Smart manual
routing tools allow users to finalize the design and to get the results they
want in a blink of an eye. Other important features are Electrical Rule Check (
ERC ), Design Rule Check (DRC) and Net Connectivity Check-the functions that
check connections in Schematic by different rules ( pin type or short circuit),
the clearance between layout objects, which ensures board accuracy, and
connectivity of all nets not depending on how they are connected (with traces,
thermals or shapes).

USB ICSP PIC
Programmer V2010 (UIC00B)
UIC00B is an enhanced version of UIC00A. It offers
low cost yet reliable and user friendly PIC USB programmer solutions for
developer, hobbyist as well as students. It is designed to program popular
Flash PIC MCU which includes most of the PIC family. Besides 8bit, it can also
program 16bit and 32bit PIC MCU. On board ICSPTM (In Circuit Serial
Programming) connector offers flexible methods to load program, UART Tool and
Logic Tool. It supports on board programming which eliminate the frustration of
plug-in and plug-out of PIC MCU. This also allow user to quickly program and
debug the source code while the target PIC is on the development board. Since
USB port is commonly available and widely used on Laptop and Desktop PC, UIC00B
is designed to be plug and play with USB connection. This programmer obtained
its power directly from USB connection, thus NO external power supply is
required, making it a truly portable programmer. This programmer is ideal for
field and general usage. UIC00B offers reliable, high speed programming and
free windows interface software.

Design
Before the hardware can be develop,
simulation by using Proteus software must be done in order to ensure that the
hardware was working properly and successfully function. After this step was
completed, the PCB layout for this circuit designed was sketch by the DipTrace
simulator. The successful design was printed on the special paper (smooth
surface) to transfer it to the board (PCB) by ironing process (heating). The
process of etching then will be done by using the acid etching liquid. After the
circuit is completely etch, the circuit was tested to ensure that the
functionality of the circuit and proceed to the next task of project
development.
3.4.8 Hardware development process
A
hardware development process is a structure imposed on the development of a
hardware product. Synonyms include hardware life cycle and hardware process.
PCB designing can be including as part of Hardware development. Figure 3.1 is
the model that student use upon hardware completion. Each step describes how
student develop the hardware.
